The Lake Hartwell bridge clearances illustrated on the map below are provided by the Army Corps of Engineers and are approximations only. Information provided is based on a full pool lake level of 660 feet msl, so there will be more or less room beneath bridges during times of higher or lower lake levels. There have been times in the past that Lake Hartwell has been several feet above full pool. The amount of clearance required to navigate under bridges is dependent upon the type of boat you are operating. Some bridges are not represented on this map, and it may be more difficult to estimate the clearances of those.

Contrary to what you may think, being located past one of Lake Hartwell’s lower clearance bridges does not necessarily mean that a property is less desirable or less valuable. In fact, these are some of the most highly sought after locations by land. For example, many people want to be as close to Clemson as possible, and many of the lake properties in these areas are accessed by navigating under bridges with an 8 foot clearance.
